On 26th of Jan, many noted persons from their respective field got awards for Padmbhushan, Padamshree, Bravery awards etc. This is really a moment which people waits for years, to make them feel proud when they finally got it, no matter which government is presenting, because it’s all matter of recognition.
First of all, congratulations to all whoever got the awards this year
Just wanted to bring a fact in light, as every year several people gets the award and opponents start crying, that these awards are not fair and given to most of the people who are close to the government of the present day. But we common people are really unaware of the fact. We only remember it for General Knowledge (GK).
One of the reason why this award is full of controversy, is the man himself Mr. Anupam Kher. A few month back there was discussion among the society on intolerance and #AwardWapsi lots of intellectuals who got awards in past years came forward and returned the award to show their protest for intolerance and to protest the protesters a campaign took place #MarchForIndia lead by Mr. Kher accompanied by several high profile name like Madhur Bhandarkar, Ms. Malini Awasthi etc. For your info, Madhur Bhandarkar and Malini Awashti also got Padmshree Award. After looking at the list, the list itself smells that there is something to create controversy. Another Padmshree awardee is Ajay Devegan who was been seen campaigning for BJP during Bihar election. So that question is “are these awards only a payoff for whoever protecting and favouring a particular party?” I don’t doubt on their capability but I am sure the timing is not perfect.
Now let me move to another direction: should a person accept the award who has already declared it, as unauthenticated item or it becomes holly and highly precious and honoured or what good to say when it is given to him/her and become unauthentic and what no if given to someone else. Let me not move round and round and take the name of that person with greatest of the respect I personally have for him, yes it MR. ANUPAM KHER. I have a lot of respect and regards for him, I like him as an actor but what he said in 2010 and what he is doing today, that is not digestible for me and so disrespect for him is obvious but that too with dignity.

The time when names were announced for the PADMA awards people on Social Media started digging the twits of these personalities and showing their own views what they used to say when their name were not been announced and someone else got these awards.
Mr. Anupam Kher really deserves the award and he should have got it much earlier. May be this timing is wrong.
Looking at these facts, it’s really difficult to say that government gives awards to their supporters only or we really lack the talent.
