For the second time in two days, a few northeastern states were shaken on Wednesday by a shudder in abutting Myanmar, however there was no report of significant harm, authorities said.
“The 6.7 extent tremor with epicenter in focal Myanmar hit different conditions of the eastern and northeastern area of India at 4.04 p.m. on Wednesday evening,” a meteorological division official said in Agartala.
“There is no report of significant harm in Tripura, Mizoram, Assam and abutting ranges of the upper east yet. Be that as it may, we are yet to get complete data from every influenced range of the upper east locale,” Disaster Management Coordinator Sarat Das told IANS, referring to reports from District Magistrates over the area.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department in New Delhi, the epicenter of the quake was at a point 190 km south of Myanmar’s memorable Mandalay city and around 19 km west of Chauk town. The profundity of the tremor was 90 km.
