International Football Association (FIFA) Approves Testing of Video Technology to Help Officials
A landmark decision by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) at its 130th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Cardiff, Wales, will pave the way for the introduction of live experiments with video assistant referees in football.
FIFA will carry out a two-year trial period to allow referees to call on video assistance in making four types of decisions: goals scored, red cards, penalties and mistaken identity.
