NEW DELHI: Delhi Police were investigating a “suspicious balloon” seen near the Delhi airport. Two flights from Delhi to Kathmandu were delayed after a phone fake call with a warning of “bombs on the planes” related with Jet Airways and Air India. Travellers and the aircraft was checked before they were totally cleared to take-off for the destination.

The Gurgaon police informed Delhi airport officers after spotting the balloon. A fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday caught and shot down a doubtful “balloon-shaped object” near Barmer in Rajasthan.

On the balloon incident of Barmer in Rajasthan, defence Minister (Manohar Parrikar) said that, “the balloon came across the Pakistan boundary but the balloon was not armed with any surveillance devices.
