Indian pacer Mohammad Shami’s brother Mohammad Haseeb was arrested a day before for pressuring cops to release a few men arrested on charges of cow slaughter. Haseeb is now released on bail, Cricketer’s father Tauseef Ahmad said his family was in “danger” and charges like “gau hatya” were being used to target them.
Tauseef Ahmad said that my son was not present there at the time of incident and had reached there much later. Haseeb was like an ordinary viewer like others who had gathered to see the incident, he was pointlessly pulled into the controversy.
On Thursday afternoon police was searching a wanted in a case of cow slaugher to arrest him, there Haseeb apparently prevented the police for doing their job and fought with sub-inspector Pradeep Bhardwaj. In the confusion, the accused escaped from the spot, and then police arrested Haseeb and filed charges against him under IPC sections 147, 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 153 (endorsing enmity between different groups), 332 (willingly hurting and stopping public servant from his duty) and 224 (fighting by a person to his lawful apprehension).
However Haseeb was given bail on account of his ill-health.
