Amir Khan is no longer part of Incredible India campaign of government of India. His services to Ministry Of Tourism came to an end as his contract is expired. Said Mr. Mahesh Sharma, Tourism and Culture Minister GOI.
He also added that Mr. Khan was part of the campaign through a contract with advertising agency McCann Erickson, and that arrangement has ended. “Since the contract with the agency is no more, automatically the arrangement with the actor no longer exists,” Mr Sharma was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
With above decision of government a lot of speculation coming from around the nation. If you remember there was a controversial comment came from Mr. Khan on raising intolerance in the society, the comment came in November which blown the several community from the society.
Now as his (Mr. Khan’s) term ended, speculations are that he has been removed because of the controversial comment made by him which was in support of a protest against government. The speculation is only the result of hat happened after controversial comment made by him. Social media was full of abuses against Mr. Khan, a special section of society was demanding his removal from as Brand Ambassador of Incredible India campaign, even some MPs and ministers from the current cabinet made hate comments against Amir Khan and some said he should leave the country and settle somewhere else where he finds tolerance. Later, Mr. Khan clarified that his comment was not as it was mis interpreted by people and media and said India is very tolerant and beautiful place to live, but this controversial comment was more than enough to go abusive against him.
As he is now no more associated with Incredible India campaign so the speculation is obvious that t has been done because of what happened in past.
However, a day after Indian government’s flip-flop, which finally led to Modi government finally confirming the removal of actor Aamir Khan’s as Incredible India’s mascot, the PK actor on Thursday said he respected the decision.
He added “It has been an honor and a pleasure for me to be the brand ambassador for the Incredible India campaign for the past 10 years. I was happy to be of service to my country, and will always be available for it. I would like to clarify that all public service films I have done till date have all been free of any cost to me. It is always an honor for me to be of service of my country, and this is how it will always be.”
So, as Mr. Khan said there was no monetary benefits accepted by him for the campaign so another speculation emerges that ” was really such a contract which might have over or it’s an independent decision of government to remove him from the face of campaign?”
Indian Express also reported highlighting similar facts. It quoted sources as saying, “There was also no paperwork (related to Aamir Khan) with the government or the agency.”
We are waiting for the actual reports to come from government and the Ad agency as well which will reveal the fact more clearly. And also wait for the new face of Incredible India! Speculations are on name of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar etc.
However India was Incredible, India is Incredible and It will be Incredible, no matter who is the brand Ambassador.
